Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using LLM Secrets ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.
2. License
2.1 Dual License Model
LLM Secrets uses a dual-license model:
- CLI & Crypto Core: Apache 2.0 - fully open source, use for any purpose
- Desktop App: Source Available - viewable and auditable, paid license required for commercial use
2.2 Requirements
For CLI/crypto-core (Apache 2.0), if you distribute or modify, you must:
- Include copyright and license notices
- State significant changes made
3. User Responsibilities
Critical: You are solely responsible for backing up your master encryption key and KeePass password. Loss of these credentials results in permanent, unrecoverable data loss.
3.1 Secure Key Storage
You are responsible for:
- Backing up your master encryption key in a secure location
- Protecting your master key from unauthorized access
- Understanding that loss of the master key may result in permanent data loss
3.2 Backup Strategy
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining backups of important data
- Testing the decrypt-encrypt cycle before relying on the Software for critical data
- Verifying backups are restorable
4. No Warranty
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. The developers make NO WARRANTY that:
- Encrypted data will be recoverable
- Encryption will be unbreakable
- Data will not be lost due to software bugs, hardware failures, or user error
4.1 Scenarios Without Liability

5. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, the developers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of this Software.
In jurisdictions that do not allow exclusion of liability, total liability shall not exceed $0.00 (zero dollars), reflecting the free and open-source nature of the Software.
6. Export Restrictions
This Software contains encryption technology and may be subject to export control laws. You are responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws.
You may NOT use the Software if you are located in a country subject to U.S. trade sanctions or are prohibited from receiving U.S. exports.
7. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to the website with a new "Last Updated" date. Continued use constitutes acceptance of modified Terms.
8. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the copyright holder resides, without regard to conflict of law principles.
